Carol was extremely helpful and patient and worked closely with me to ensure I found the right medication and dosage.

I was very lucky to be referred to psychiatry UK and work with Carole Shue. She was extremely kind, helpful and patient with me during the titration process of my medication. I liaised with her both online and on the telephone, and nothing was ever too much trouble. She always listened to what I had to say and made me feel at ease with the whole process. I could not recommend her more.

The experience of working with Carol in my titration process was great. Carol is professional, pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and really takes the time to listen to every single detail. I would certainly recommend Carol, she played a key role in the whole process of me getting better. Carol, a big thank you! Daniela

This was my first personal experience of psychiatry and titration and it was a really good one. Aside from the adult ADHD diagnosis completely changing life as I knew it (and for my family too), the process was a very positive one. Carol was incredibly supportive whether it was explaining the medication and side effects, getting back promptly if I had a question or helping navigate and accelerate the shared care aspects at the end of the titration. I would fully recommend Carol (and the rest of the UK Psychiatry experience).

Carol has been fantastic from day one and I cannot recommend her enough. The Adult ADHD service from Psychiatry UK has been life-changing and Carol has had a big role in my treatment. Carol has always been happy to listen to me and answer any questions, as well as provide guidance around my medication and advice on how to make it more effective. My medication was tweaked and changed until we found something that worked and I believe that without Carol's support and guidance I would have changed the medication and dosage more frequently and would have been left disappointed with the results. With small changes to my diet and lifestyle, the medication we settled with has had a big impact on my whole life and also the life of my family. As a Nurse Prescriber, Carol can go into a number of roles with the healthcare system but I do hope she continues to help with the treatment of ADHD as her knowledge and understanding really does make a huge difference. Thank you for your help!

Profile

I am a registered nurse prescriber. I started my journey as a mental health nurse by completing the recognised nursing course in the UK. Since qualifying as a nurse in 2011, I have worked in acute inpatient and community settings. I have helped pioneered the start of an NHS Adult ADHD service in 2011 and developed the service together with a Consultant Psychiatrist and provided a nurse led service for adults. Since 2011, I have participated in training conferences to help train other clinicians who were planning to start an adult ADHD service in their locality or those who have just started working in an adult ADHD service. I have given talks about the nurse led Adult ADHD service that I have helped pioneered in conferences/training sessions.

I was voted Clinician of The Year in 2017 in the NHS Trust I was working with, and this reflects my dedication and commitment to continue to develop my nursing practice and deliver the best nursing intervention to those in need.
